Paula graduated from Virginia Tech in 1989 with a degree in Human Resources and Business. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of management and administrative roles, including managing a video store, working in Purchasing and Accounting for a Fortune 500 company, and overseeing front office operations for both a local sawmill and a transportation company that specialized in hauling mail for the USPS. She currently serves as the Hospital Manager at Corban Veterinary Services.

Outside of work, Paula enjoys spending time with her tripod cat, Gertrude, a rescue from the hospital. She is also actively involved in the community, supporting organizations such as Charlotte County Meals on Wheels and TPAC (Truckers Parade Against Cancer), a Relay for Life team that raises funds for the American Cancer Society.
